Bole North America, Phoenix, Ariz., is the exclusive U.S. and Canadian distributor for Bole Machinery of Ningbo, China, a manufacturer of precision injection molding machines from 60 to 6800 tons. The new firm was formed in January by Michael Treger, president of Treger Financial and KD Capital Equipment, also of Phoenix. Treger has been joined in the venture by injection machin- ery sales veteran Scott Rains. Rains is now managing sales efforts while developing a Bole North America sales and service network across the U.S. and Canada. Service is being handled by Molders Technical Services (MTS) of Norton, Ohio, which is owned by molding-industry veteran Mark Holliday. Bole North America has focused on the Bole EK Series, a servo-driven, center-clamping toggle machine that was introduced to the U.S. in 2014. About 20 EK Series machines are operating in the U.S. and Canada, with thousands more in Mexico, Europe, Asia, and Africa. The company will soon introduce the Bole DK Series of hybrid two-platen machines in sizes from 506 to 7644 tons. Bole molding machines are backed with a "very strong" 24-month warranty, said Rains, and come with a large kit of spare parts. Bole had been represented in North America by Tech-Bole USA, a sister company of injection molder Tech-Way Industries, Franklin, Ohio. 480-565-1800 • bolenorthamerica.com SABIC Debuts Polyolefin Elastomers & Plastomers Among several new materials and applications that SABIC (U.S. office in Houston) will be showcasing at the upcoming K 2016 show in Germany this October will be its new metallocene-based polyolefin specialty elastomer and plastomer (POE/POP) copolymers. These come from SABIC's purchase of Nexlene solution polymerization technology from South Korea's SK Global Chemical. This makes SABIC the newest entrant in materi- als aimed primarily at plastic modification and film applications and dominated by a few players: Dow Chemical, Midland, Mich., with its Engage and Affinity grades; Houston-based ExxonMobil Chemical with its Exact and Vistamaxx resins; Singa- pore-based Mitsui Elastomers with its Tafmer products; and Korea's LG Chem, with its new Lucene POE brand. SABIC SK Nexlene Company (SSNC) is a 50-50 joint venture of SABIC and SK, formed last year and based in Singapore. It operates a 507-million- lb/yr plant in Ulsan, South Korea, that produces metallocene-based LDPE, POEs, and POPs aimed at flexible packaging, industrial and agricultural films, automotive and consumer prod- ucts, medical devices, and construc- tion uses. Expansions are planned for the plant. 713-532-4999 • sabic.com
