Mold-Tracking App Gains Collaboration Features Tool Stats, Warren, Mich., has released a redesigned version of its free smartphone app that allows users to manage tooling data from one or more locations in the palm of their hand. In addition to a new interface, Tool Stats now allows users to easily communicate and collaborate with their supply chain. The app allows users to share their tooling projects with an unlimited amount of users and suppliers with customizable data storage and upgraded tracking features. With Tool Stats, each mold has a corresponding QR code that can be scanned at any time to pull up all the mold's data. Acting as a central online platform that all individuals involved in a tooling program can access at any time from any location, the app allows users to store data, share files, track timelines, and post information throughout the lifespan of the program. User permission controls are available to manage which users and teams can access projects. The app also allows users to report issues, log maintenance activity, track production totals, and keep tabs on mold location. ToolStats says its patented barcoding technology ensures that a mold's information and history are always with the tool. 586-408-9199 • toolstats.com TOOLING ADDITIVES RECYCLING Heat & UV Stabilizer for Auto Interior TPOs A proprietary heat and light stabilizer masterbatch recently introduced by Clariant, Charlotte, N.C., reportedly sets a new benchmark for longer-lasting aesthetics and a healthier environment inside motor vehicles due to high compatibility with PP-based compounds (said to make up over 50% of plastics in vehicle interiors) and high intrinsic stability that contribute to reduced blooming and VOC emissions. AddWorks ATR 146 is a low-dosage, sulfur-free stabilizer for TPO compounds used in auto interiors, such as for instru- ment panels, door panels, and pillars. It report- edly delivers exceptional heat stability, with no surface cracking after at least 700 hr at 302 F (150 C) when dosed as low as 0.3%—performance that exceeds standard industry requirements and report- edly outperforms currently available alternatives. This additive is also said to provide excellent UV stability and long-term protection against discoloration, plus high resistance to extraction by water or detergents. 704-331-7000 • clariant.com Improved Melt Filter at Fakuma At next month's Fakuma 2017 show in Friedrichshafen, Germany, Ettlinger Kunststoffmas- chinen GmbH of Germany (U.S. office in Tyrone, Ga.) will introduce its latest- generation melt filters for recycling of contaminated resins. The brand- new models are based on the same rotating, perforated drum as the previous ERF and ECO versions. The first months of practical experience with pilot customers reportedly show up to 28% higher throughput for the same filtration quality and the same ultra-low melt losses, said to be half as large as those with other melt filters. 70-703-8541 • ettlinger.com @plastechmag 83 Plastics Technology N E W P R O D U C T S F O R P L A S T I C S P R O C E S S I N G
